Our Vision

The Hope for Change Foundation promotes breast cancer awareness and raises funds for cancer research. Based upon the concept that increased recognition of the disease raises the possibility of finding a cure, HFC is dedicated to supporting community awareness and cutting edge research.  To that end, HFC raises funds by providing a comprehensive program of arts and entertainment options to the community.

How It All Began

Hope. By definition, it is an intrinsically human characteristic for one must possess reason to have it. Yet, there are many who say we abandon logic when we hope. We at the Hope for Change Foundation (HFC) don’t feel that way, not when our mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts are losing their lives each day. Our hope is for a cure to the disease that claims the lives of nearly 40,000 women annually in the United States alone and affects countless families in its indifferent wake. That hope rests in breast cancer research, and more precisely, in your hands.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. Those who share our hope wish to put an end to such statistics. The HFC ensures their generosity goes toward that end. A 501-c-3 nonprofit, the HFC was founded in 2002 to promote awareness of, and provide funding for, breast cancer research. Built upon the principle that increased knowledge of this disease strengthens the possibility of finding a cure, the foundation supports theatrical programming as a means of education and offering aid to organizations dedicated to such vital research.

We’ve come a long way since the scientific onset of breast cancer treatment with the radical mastectomy procedure of Dr. William Halsted at the turn of the 20th century. The last 40 years have brought us ever closer to the precipice of change. It’s time to push forward and take that final step.

Behind a dedicated team of volunteers, some of whom have shared personal struggles with the leading cause of death in women ages 35 to 55, the HFC endeavors to continually expand its programming, involving entire communities in the race for a cure. Since our inception as The Hope Players, we have raised more than $100,000 for local charities. Through our organization, young and old alike are using their theatrical talents to make a difference. They give freely of their time so that somewhere, a woman might receive the same gift from her doctor.

To hope is human. To give life is extraordinary
